Within walking distance of the historic center of Florence, a former railroad station built in the early nineteenth century offers 6,000 square meters of space. In addition to the impact of its high arches and brick walls, the outstanding feature of the Stazione Leopolda is its versatility due to the fact that it is an unfinished space's and hence, infinitely modifiable. Stazione Leopolda srl is a Pitti Immagine company. This exhibition space is divided into 4 main areas (Area 1, Area 2, Area 3 and Alcatraz ) which are all interconnected. In addition to the indoor spaces indicated above, it can be also used the external forecourt courtyard- 1.000 sq.m.- fully restructured by Gae Aulenti in 1996. Stazione Leopolda (Area 1+ Area 2+ Area 3) can contain maximum 1.200 people at the same time; adding the Alcatraz space, that can fit up till 650 people, the entire space (Stazione Leopolda + Alcatraz) reaches the maximum capacity of 1.850 people present at the same time. It is possible to rent also a portion of the entire space, from a minimum surface of 750 sq.m. to the maximum one of 6.000 sq.m.
