The Politeama building occupies an area of 1,000 square meters, has a rectangular layout and is part of the urban center of Montevarchi. The building, built in 1924 as a theater, was later used as a cinema. The original structure was divided into a central hall decorated with stuccoes and friezes. Over time, the side bays of the building have been added, partly transformed into offices and bars, and the turret for the projection of the outdoor cinema. On top of the hall the steps have been removed giving rise to an independent space. At the end of all additions, modifications and removal of volumes from the space of the ancient cinema-theater, a large room has remained undivided within the building. transformed into the current multi-purpose space of the Politeama, venue for exhibitions, cultural events, concerts, private party, cathering and events related to the promotion of the Valdarno.
