A building of great historical and architectural interest, the Niccolini, formerly the Teatro del Cocomero, is the oldest in Florence and one of the first “modern” theaters in Europe: its origin dates back to 1650. Entirely restored and reopened to the public in 2016, today it is a multipurpose cultural center which, in addition to shows, hosts exhibitions and conferences. In addition to the hall (406 seats on 4 tiers of boxes) and the Cocomero Room (approximately 80 seats), on the ground floor there is a café and a bookshop with the most important books of the Polistampa group and a selection of titles about theater and artistic heritage of the city.
